Bucharest Christmas Lights 2017

Bucharest has its own charm when it comes to Christmas lights. There are some places in town already known for their decorations, but you’ll be surprised to find some great ones that aren’t so famous. Anyway, our city is way more charismatic this time of year! 🙂

Magheru Boulevard

On one of the most important boulevards in Bucharest you can admire decorations in the shape of some romanian symbols, announcing the celebration of the Centenary next year: 100 years since the Great Union in 1918. Among the symbols you can notice the romanian traditional blouse and hat, the romanian tricolor and our traditional dance, hora.

Here you’ll discover a smaller Christmas Market, in front of the University, with a small stage for concerts, a smaller Christmas tree, some cottages with mulled wine and food (burgers, sausages, hot dogs, waffles, pancakes). Perfect for a break from your exploring the city.

In Old Town, on the French Street, on your way to a pub or restaurant, you’ll walk under a light curtain. Perfect moment for few more photos.

Bucharest Christmas Market, Constitution Square

The main Christmas Market in Bucharest takes place in Constitution Square, right in front of The Palace of the Parliament. What will you find here? Jolly wooden cottages selling both romanian and  international goodies, souvenirs and, of course, some entertaining activities: there is a stage set up for concerts and an ice skating rink. For the little ones, the main attraction is Santa’s House. Aaaand the proud Christmas tree and Christmas canopy that light the market with thousands of twinkling stars.
